Washington Renegades
Well, they let the cat out the bag, and you know what they say, “pandora doesn’t go back in the box”. So, why don’t we throw a team in the nation’s capital. The Renegades can adopt the red and yellow color scheme. Washington, DC, could use a football team with a good owner. While there are valid concerns of a Washington team stepping on the toes of Norfolk, perhaps it could be good for getting people outside of Norfolk interested in the DSFL as well. Renegades is a good, menacing name. The branding could come off really clean depending on the on the focus. I would not concentrate on the Renegade aspect for a logo outside of using the letter R. For mascots, I would use an eagle, naturally. Eagles are the national bird, but some say that ol’ Ben Franklin wanted a turkey as the national bird. Fortunately for all of us that enjoy a healthy bird on Thanksgiving that did not happen. However, would that allow us to eat eagle instead? Tangent aside, Washington would be a fine place for a team. A great visit for tourist fans, you can stop by the national mall, see the Smithsonians and then catch a Renegades’ game.
Plus, who doesn’t enjoy that Styx song? (Domo Arigato)
