Hello friends and strangers.
So from what I understand the behind-the-scenes draft is getting underway before long so before that happened I wanted to say in public what I've been telling GMs and scouts that have reached out as it may (or may not) affect your valuation of yours truly. This is my first time recreating in a league so it's the first time I've gone into a draft with some baggage, so to speak.
I am currently an offensive lineman. I'm not going to change to another position so don't draft me hoping that I will. As those of you who know me in other leagues are aware of, I like utilizing test sims to give me an informed direction for my build. However, I don't own DDSPF15 and I'm not gonna get it so I need a GM that is willing to put up with my PMs asking about how I should split up my next 100 TPE between Run and Pass Blocking, for example. I'm going to be interested in things like how much 10 points in Run Blocking will affect our YPC and how much 10 points in Pass Blocking affects our sacks allowed rate. These are things I'd generally check out myself but will need to rely on someone else to do for me here. edit: nvm tc says it's a waste of time so the testing demand has lowered.
I don't really enjoy free agency. Waking up to 30 discord notifications and 7 different PMs with pitches flatters some people but that's a hard pass from me, captain. That said, I really don't see myself lasting long-term in the ASFC where I'd have to compete with my true home of New Orleans for a playoff spot year-in and year-out. I've enjoyed my time on Baltimore and Colorado and would happily return to either of those teams or go the other NSFC teams so I'm not saying that I'm bolting for NOLA as soon as I hit FA but if I get drafted into the ASFC that's a very real possibility. I'm not going to sit out or hold out or anything if Orange County drafts me, for example, I just want those teams to be aware that there's a good chance I bail.
I don't care if your team sucks, if your team's future looks bleak, or if you're rebuilding. I haven't made the playoffs yet in my 10ish season SHL career, I had zero thoughts of leaving Las Vegas/New Orleans even when we were super bad for my first 4ish seasons, and likewise for Death Valley for my first 7ish seasons. I like winning and ultimately my goal is to help the team win but I'm okay sitting through a rebuild or two so long as the discord is fun. In fact, it's more fun for me joining a team that sucks and then helping to build them into a contender. From what I understand (I've been kinda out of the loop lately, more on that next paragraph) the expansion teams will be picking in this draft, if so I'd be stoked to end up on one of them (the one not in the ASFC preferably) and start a team from scratch.
I've been incredibly lazy and a little busy lately. I'm pretty sure I don't have the TPE to justify where I'll end up being picked in the draft but I do think I'll pick it up going forward. That said, summer is my busiest IRL time of year so maybe not. I still expect to peak around 1000 TPE.
If you voted against Player Agents, lose my number. As kind of a continuation to the paragraph about free agency, if I do decide to test it I will be hiring an agent to represent me so that I don't have to deal with all the messages and pings and nonsense that accompanies it. The first questions my agent will ask are how you voted when Er opened his agency (if you were GM/HO at the time) and how you would vote if the topic were to be revisited. Anyone who thinks I shouldn't be allowed to delegate this tedious and unenjoyable part of the league to someone else who is also in the league (aka the people best equipped to handle the task) because they think I'm so low IQ that I wouldn't recognize it if I wound up in a hypothetical scenario where my agent was fucking me over is not someone I'd like to play for and will be immediately eliminated from consideration. If there isn't a person unaffiliated with the league who is willing to be my agent I'll name a panel of personal confidants to liaise between myself and the league's GMs and provide me with valuable insight and advice that I may or may not rely on to make a decision. More information will follow if I do decide to test free agency which tbh I'm kinda psyching myself up to become a free agent out of pure pettiness now. We'll see how I feel in a couple seasons.
I think that pretty much covers it all.
tl;dr
will play for any team for my rookie contract
fair chance that I bail on your team if you're in the ASFC and don't doot or if you oppose player agents
I've been slacking on TPE but should pick it up
will not be position switching
need a GM or teammate to test for me
