Multiple sources out of Baltimore indicate the Hawks could be targeting a top tier edge rusher. The Hawks are having trouble getting to the opposing quarterback and finishing off games. Their offense has scored the second most points in the league but they are having trouble closing the door as their counterparts are moving the ball through the air well which has led to several close losses. An obvious target team would be the San Jose Sabercats. Their playoffs chances are slim at best but they have several players that have gotten to the QB well through eight games: Miller with six sacks, Selich with four sacks, and Cameron also with four sacks. Who knows if the San Jose GM would be willing to make a deal but any of those players would infuse serious pass rushing ability to the Hawks front seven. In exchange the Hawks could be shopping several draft picks or perhaps one of their wide receivers. An influx of talent to the Hawks defense could just be what they need to propel themselves into the playoffs. As trade deadline day approaches this will be one of the many storylines around the league to keep an eye on.
