Written Option: Let’s set some records! If your player could set one NSFL or DSFL record, what would it be? It can be career, seasonal, or single game records. Write about what it would be, why you want to beat it, how you would beat it, and the feeling you would have with this feat!
As stand in general for the wiki until 37th resumes leadership, I'm very aware of all the records on the wikipedia considering about 90% of them were made by me before being passed down to other users to update on a seasonal basis.
Let's start with the easy ones that I've guaranteed to obtaining from Lavelle Sr.
Career Punt Return Yards - 3,452 - Dermot Lavelle.
Career Kick Return Yards - 9,093 - Dermot Lavelle.
As far as I can remember, Jr's got 999 kick return yards and 65 punt return yards. With the current clause in my contract I'm guessing I'll at least maintain that kick return average (more than likely 999 will be the lowest) meaning I'll beat the 9093 yards in this season + 7 more.
Punt return yards is a little trickier because the record sits at 3,452 yards. Over 12 seasons you need about 288 yards a season to beat it. Lavelle Jr was tits and only got 65 in the entire year. Meaning I need about 511 punt return yards to get back on track this year. But I'm in the 40's already just 3 games in.
Let's get onto the others.
Career Interceptions - 57 - Dermot Lavelle.
Career Pass Deflections - 249 - Dermot Lavelle.
Career Defensive Touchdowns - 10 - Dermot Lavelle
To reach Lavelle's record I would need atleast 4.75 ints a season for 12 seasons. Currently sitting at 3 int's over a season and 3 games, I'd need to step up a fair bit to even scrape this. Maybe 2nd place for 12 seasons x 4 ints is an easier and more realistic goal.
Pass deflections I need 20.75 a season, Lavelle last year had just 8. For defensive touchdowns I need a total of 10 to match the record over 12 now 13 seasons. I have zero.
Just a quick note that was I typed this up it became possible for players to play for 13 seasons so I now have an additional season to touch these.
