As those who read my Secondary Measures media series should be aware, PDs and INTs are great and all, but are not the perfect measure for cornerback quality. Unfortunately, there is just no record of things like 'fewest receptions allowed' or 'lowest opposing QB rating'. Having said that, an interception is the ideal outcome on a given play for a cornerback. Therefore, the record that I would want Louisiana Purchase to break would be the DSFL single season interception mark. The record was set by Danny Vranos of the Marshals in Season 8 with 8. Purchase is currently sitting at 5 interceptions this season with 6 games to go. Purchase has had two multi interception games thus far, and another would put the record well in sight. Even still, I would say it is unlikely that Vranos is caught or even tied, as interceptions can be fluky. However, it has certainly been a thrill to watch the chase, and help the Marshals pick up a few wins along the way.
Also, for what its worth, Purchase has contributed two forced fumble and fumble recoveries. So, while there is no record tracked for most takeaways, I would be thrilled to reach a double digit total for that and claim it as an unofficial record.
