Marquees Acho was actually very close to having 2 records at the DSFL level- the single game tackle record and the single season tackle record. Acho had over 20 tackles in a game twice, which before S15, would have been the single game record. Also, Acho beat the previous single season tackle record for the DSFL. Unfortunately, 2 other linebackers that year also beat the previous tackle record and had more than Acho. Coming this close ate away at Acho and he’s determined to try and hit these records at the NSFL level, even though it will be extremely difficult. Acho’s teammate in Baltimore, Austin Roenick, is the career tackle leader in the nsfl so Acho’s hoping to learn as much as he can from Roenick before he retires after this season.
Tackling isn’t the only thing Acho wants to hold the record for. He also wants the single season forced fumble record. There’s no better way to impact the game as a linebacker than to force a turnover. As Acho has no success with interceptions, forcing fumbles is his best bet to help Baltimore’s defense take the next step.
At the end of the day, all of these records are secondary to winning. But there’s something to be said about seeing your name on the records list making the hard work worth it.
