Ashley Owens has many goals for his career. The biggest? Break the National Simulation Football League's career rushing + receiving yards record. Breaking the all-purpose yards record would be pretty nice too, but kickoff and punt return yardage is not quite as important to Ashley as his rushing and receiving numbers. He models his game after NFL star Christian McCaffrey, so being a true star at the flex position is important him. Owens' first career game as a Copperhead exemplifies the type of career he hopes for: 19 rushes and a single-game record-tieing 10 catches. This all ties into why Ashley Owens also hopes to be the first player to ever break 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. To beat this record, Owens will need to improve upon what's been a decent first season for a flex player. Currently, he sits at 392 rushing yards and 318 receiving yards - this extrapolates out to 728 rushing yards and 590 receiving yards, 1318 yards total. This is far from Owens' eventual goals, but he remains confident in his ability. Eventually, when the record is secured, Owens will no doubt be ecstatic. It will be the culmination of a career full of hard work, and he's excited to see it happen one day.
