The way last season ended was left a bitter taste in many of the Yellowknife Wraiths mouths so coming into this season expectations were high. Last regular season we lost only one game all season so the team had hopes of completing an undefeated season this year. Well, if you want to talk about week one disappointment the Liberty came into our house week one and creamed us. Overall the team played relatively well but Richard D'Attoria V had himself a field day against our offence racking up 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 interceptions and a touchdown! It's tough to win when a guy puts together a legendary performance like that and singlehandedly gives your team nightmares. Considering the high expectations coming into the season week one was definitely a disappointment to the players and fans. All things considered though there were many positives in the game and the team only lost by 8 which isn't half bad considering all those turnovers. Personally it wasn't a bad game putting up 8 tackles of my own. The team has used that week one loss as fuel throughout the season and we still expect to do big things before the season ends.
