Pretty sure priority #1 of DSFL GM should be getting the new comers excited and help them with the league. I thought Saba et al have done that well. So not sure firing was the right choice but it's done with now. There's lots of league job people that have slacked in the past seasons, but it's forgivable because we all understand real life is more important. This is a tough one for HO. Lose-lose kind of.

Absolutely, that's a huge part of the job. But, it's not just social hour either. There are things you still have to do in order for us to have a league to sim in. Like submitting a depth chart when asked, and when you do, making sure it doesn't have retired players or players from other teams in it.
