With the dust just settling from the DSFL draft, I think what really strikes me about Norfolk’s draft strategy was how well they added players that will make positive contributions to the roster on the defensive side of the ball. In particular, I am tremendously excited to see our monster defensive line in action. Picking up Thubba Bumper with the 6th pick was a bit of a coup in my opinion - with 149 TPE and 82 speed, he’s going to be able to put up pressure on offenses very quickly and really become the core of a solid defensive unit. Combined with Magnus Rikiya, our 10th pick defensive tackle, and Matt Cross, our 14th pick safety, they’re really going to make it difficult for offenses by creating pressure on the passer to get the ball out quickly and ensuring effective center field coverage further down the field. In addition, all these 3 key members of our defensive have great intangibles as well. The tremendous pace at which they’re pumping out media bodes extremely well for future TPE and bank account development, and the personality and vigour they bring to locker room chat in the discord make they amazing presences to have on the team. I am nothing but confident that they’re going to make life hell for our opponents’ offenses next season.
