The London Royals had a particularly strong draft this year. With the 2nd overall pick, we selected one of the hottest young QB prospects in Colby Jack out of the University of Oregon. Colby has the kind of innate leadership the teams drool over and his experience as a 4 year starter at Oregon should help propel him to success early on. The Royals then decided to shore up some of their defense with the next few picks by selecting LB Derred De Ville with pick #9 and CB Cadillac Harris with pick #18. Both of whom should be key leaders on the Royal’s defense this year. Perhaps the most underrated position group for the Royals this season will be their defensive line. The Royals selected DE Sandro Ryeu with pick #34, DT Tristan Gronlie with pick #66, DT Clayton Jones with pick #82 and finally DE Simeon Works with pick #114. Ryeu and Works should be one of the better bookends defensive end in the DSFL this season and apply consistent pressure on opposing QBs. Gronlie and Jones are stout against the run but can also collapse the pocket in passing situations. This is a major advantage and should make it easier on the Royal’s secondary this season.
