It’s hard to say that the Minnesota Grey Ducks needed to retool the roster too much after their second straight Ultimini run, even with the veteran leaders of the team being called up to their NSFL clubs. The offense will still be centered around the seemingly unstoppable combination of quarterback Zack Vega and halfback Baby Yoda, and the powerful tight end duo Gragg and Wolfcastle look to repeat their domination of the line for a second year running. On the other side of the ball the loss of team captain linebacker Holden Summers hurts, but the veteran Matts, safety Matt Murphy and and defensive end Matt Hole, look to step up and make a big impact to keep opponents working for their yards. Helping them to that end is an incredible haul of young defensive talent picked up in the S21 DSFL Draft, most notably tackle “Mamba” Magic and safety Buck Thornton. They will be playing alongside two of the most touted of last year’s rookie class, so look to see fast improvement from these youngbloods as the team looks to build on last year’s success. Back to back Ultiminis is rare enough, but this year the Grey Ducks will attempt to solidify their place in DSFL history with a threepeat and this generation’s unquestionable dyansty de jure. With new leadership and nearly thirty new players to scheme around many are predicting a fall from grace for the Ducks, but the core remains unshaken and the determination only stouter.
