After getting smacked by the Copperheads in the Ultimus, a lot of things had to change if we were going to make it back to the big game. Several key pieces are starting to regress, including Bigsby, so we had to get some new weapons for him. We managed to grab Bender B. Rodriguez to give Cooter a new target to throw to after the retirement of Tommy Helanen. We grabbed Dax Frost in the draft, an up and coming running back who should slot in to the team nicely. Of course, that leaves Orien Drake on the outside looking in, but the plan is to play him at a different position on offense so that we can still use him, as he has been a key part of the running offense in Yellowknife for a few seasons now. In the draft as well, we grabbed a real kicker. One might question drafting a kicker in the second round, but Yellowknife lost in the Ultimus partially due to missing many, many kicks. Smalls is an immediate upgrade over Donaldson and shouldn't miss 30 yard field goals, which is nice. We also drafted some strong defensive pieces in Douglas Quaid and John Bois. Hopefully all these new pieces mean that Yellowknife doesn't falter in the big game and we can finally bring a trophy home.
