Sometimes it's said a great program doesn't rebuild, it reloads. The Minnesota Grey Ducks may not have even needed to do that. Coming off of back to back DSFL championships the Ducks may have expected to lose QB Vega and RB Yoda, but the dynamic pair will return. But what new blood will be enhancing an already red hot offense?
The defense may have gotten the biggest upgrades. Bo Jangles at CB is already turning heads with his speed and knowledge of the game. Mo Magic is an up and coming DT who looks to be developing the strength to push around any offensive lineman in the DSFL and the speed to lock down cut back lanes. Safety Buck Thornton has center fielder speed and the heart to stay on the field down after down. Rounding out the backfield newcomers is fellow safety Sebastian Vettel, who always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
On offense the needs were less immediate, but there will be an impact as well as some picks made with an eye to the future. Jamar Lackson may have been brought in under the assumption that Baby Yoda would be moving on to the NSFL, but the Ducks management must be salavating at the idea of having him, Yoda and Skuff all rushing out of one backfield. He's quick, with the power to burst through any size hole. Sim SnowBow comes in at QB, hoping to be groomed once Vega makes the big jump to the NSFL, while Shawn Ansari should see good rotational time at tight end.
The Ducks are primed for another big year, with returning stars and fresh new blood to bolster the defense.
