ok, well the first new face in Colorado would logically be their first draft pick and guess what, that's me. Since the rules didn't say that I couldn't write about myself, that's what I'm going for. Why will I make a difference in the Yeti's search for a championship? Well, Immanuel Blackstone is a defensive End who just finished a defensive lineman of the year winning season with the Tijuana Luchadores. So, for this PT I thought that it would be fun to compare Blackstone's stats from last season with what the defensive lineman of the year did in the NSFL. The current title holder is none other than another Colorado defensive lineman, Bubba Thumper. Thumper put up some good numbers, but in my opinion they pale in comparison to what Blackstone did:
Tackles: Blackstone blows him away with 71 tackles to his 44
TFLs: Thumper only had 1 in comparison to Blackstone's 22.
FF/FR: Thumper had absolutely none. Blackstone had 2 FF and 1 FR.
Sacks: Thumper had 12 and Blackstone was not far behind with 9.
Safeties: Thumper led the league with 2 and Blackstone led the league with 1.
I know that Thumper played DT and not DE, but if you compare Blackstone's numbers to the top Defensive Ends (probably Idlewyld), Blackstone still comes out on top even more convincingly. The point is, Blackstone is a top talent and if he comes away with anything like what he did last season then the Yeti defensive line could be real scary.
