WIn the inaugural season for the expansion London Royals, every draft pick is about setting the tone and culture for the franchise. The Royals started off by drafting QB Colby Jack to lead the offense and then took the first LB off the board in Derred de Ville in the second round to lead the defense. In the third round the Royals were in a position to draft the best available player and did so getting CB Cadillac Harris 18th overall. After the Kansas City Coyotes drafted RB Kevin Fakon 21st overall, the front office was ecstatic to get RB Acura Skyline who they had ranked ahead of Fakon on their draft board. With the main offensive weapons secured, London would spend six of their next seven picks on the defensive side of the ball. DE Sandro Ryeu in the 6th round to lead the defensive line group and S Quinn Hughes in the 7th round to call the plays for the secondary. CB Eldrick Avery, DT Tristan Gronlie, CB Ben Stackinpaper and DT Clayton Jones round out the defensive selections. The Royals were able to pull off some late round steals as well in 13th round pick LB Cadillac Mitchell, 14th round pick S Ed Ball, 16th round pick RB Jacoby Batista and probably the best value pick in the entire draft, TE Donatello Arrabiata in the 19th round. With the offensive and defensive leaders that the Royals were able to pick up this draft, the template for how to be a London Royal should be set for the future generations. The savvy drafting int he later rounds might be enough for this team to make a playoff run this season.
