For Cuco Clemente the biggest turning point was not an injury or a trade. Not even a position switch, what was the biggest turning point in Clemente's career was his name change. His birth name is Octavio Clemente and that is what he went by in his first year in the DSFL. just prior to the draft Clemente was reflecting on what he wanted out of his NSFL career. How he wanted to be perceived by fans and his opponents. So Clemente chose a name for the boogey man in his native tongue, Spanish. That is when clemente decided that he would not settle for just good. He wanted to be great.

After being drafted, Clemente got to return to Myrtle Beach and did not go on to the NSFL like he expected. This was actually an ideal scenrio as clemente really took to his new persona. He studies the greats in the league and picked which players he wanted to model himself after. The added time he had without dealing with the stress of the NSFL allowed him to developed into a balanced DT and one that will be feared. The boogey man is ready to make a name for himself. Clemente plans on being a life long Sailfish so I doubt we will see a change in the biggest event of his career anytime soon
