Fantasy Football Review, Based only on Player Renders
RB and WRs
You can see my first article here where I covered the most important positions, ie, kickers, TEs and QBs. Now I tackle those scrub positions that don’t mean anything to your fantasy team but we may as well talk about it. I’m talking WRs and RBs. Like I said before, I am looking at how I think that player would do at their listed position, based solely as their render. I am also taking into account the person in their prime, with ties going towards longevity. Additionally, I am basing it off their skills, so a great athlete may not be the greatest WR because their skill set may not translate. For example, how good would Michael Vick be as a WR. Probably not as good as some who had been doing it forever, but better than an average player? I would think he would be a descent WR, but not HOF worthy. IDK? Actually I do, and these rankings will prove that and anyone who questions me are big bad homers. Also, Once again, I maybe messed up the order on purpose just to make you mad… If you think the order is off, you may be right, and I may be testing you personally. The only way to win this test is to keep it to yourself… Love you!!!
OK, It is pretty common knowledge in this league that the most fun position to create is WR. I am a WR and it rules! Also, my recreate may be a WR… Who knows, I may go WR for life. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it and whatnot. But without running on too long… JK, I love running on too long. Here are your top ISFL WR player render rankings for if they actually were WRs.
WR - OK so this is actually a stacked group, you get far into the list before you even hit a meme player. The top of the list has a lot that could go either way. Honestly, everyone is going to have different opinions about these so I am prepared for it to be contentious. But without further ado… I’m going to drag it out more… JK, I Love you again...
WR
1. Jackson Kingston - - Julio Jones
Very close call on who should go 1OA. But I think this goes to Julio, who has been a beast his entire career. His best season has 1871 yards which is the second highest total for any WR season all time. His next best is 13th all-time. Julio is a sure fire HOFer who puts up consistent numbers every season. He truly is deserving of this honor!
2. James Bishop - - Michael Thomas
Another Yeti goes off the board with Michael Thomas. He is much younger than the rest on the list and only has 4 seasons to show for it, but those seasons!!! Last season’s 149 receptions set the all time record for catches in a season. Also no big deal but his second best season is number 6 all-time! Remember, he has only played for 4 seasons! If we string out their careers I wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas adds many more records to his name!
3. William Lim - - Odell Beckham Jr (Giant’s Edition)
The third pick and once again we have another yeti!! Makes you wonder why their receiving yardage isn’t this good in the sim? :eyes:.
4. Nate Swift - - Keenan Allen
What? Allen is really good?!?! If you can’t be a homer in your own article then when can you...
5. Action Jackson - - Terrell Owens
Hall of Famer, 6 time pro-bowler, top 3 all time in career yards! Am I dumb to have him this low, probably, but no big deal. Career high 1451 Receiving yards, and 16 TDs. I think TDs are what sets him apart. To be honest, he is much better than just about anyone on this list but its more fun to take shots at Colorado and be a homer than anything...
6. Chris Kross - - Terrell Owens
Tie goes to Wraiths...
7. Jacoby Clay - - Josh Gordon
He could be anywhere from first to mid tier on this list. His best season, 2013 is one of the best seasons ever and he broke fantasy football for a bit. It is too bad he will always be a “what could have been” because at his best, no one is better.
8. Eddie Jeeta - - AJ Green
Whenever Green is on the field, he has been incredibly consistent. He has over 1000 yards in every season he has played at least 11 games. Being saddled with an average QB forever, it is still an impressive feat. One of my favorite WRs in the NFL, this guy is so fun to watch!
9. Net Gaines - - Dez Bryant
Plays the big man WR role to perfection, lower yards, but lots of TDs, and makes huge plays. His Diva personality held him back, but at his peak, Dez was a force and one of the best WR in the game.
10. Randy Vuxta - - George Kittle
Had a hard time deciding where to put Kittle. He is a TE so he goes against LBs and Safeties more often than corners, but you can’t argue with his success. He dominates whoever he goes up against and I feel if he did nothing but run routes, he would be a strong WR.
11. Raheem Okusi - - Doug Baldwin
Stuck on a run first offense his whole career, Baldwin is always underrated. He is a great route runner and has a strong presence on the field. He has two 1000+ receiving seasons for the Seahawks despite them running a ton, and his peak of 14 TDs in 2015 is stronger than a lot of players above him.
12. Sean O’Leary - - Adam Theilan
Another severely underrated player. Thielan has had back to back huge seasons in 2017 (1276 yards) and 2018 (1373 yards) despite having a fellow WR1 on his team. The 2X pro-bowler will try to show that he can be great as his teams bonafide number 1 this upcoming season.
13. Hugh Mongo - Kenny Golladay
This young WR is coming off two straight 1000+ yard seasons and is just beginning to hit his prime. Last year he performed without his starting QB for most of the season. Babytron is trying to live up to his nickname following in one of that all-time greatest’s footsteps.
14. Willie B. Hardagain - - Cortland Sutton
Year 2 in the Broncos offense saw Sutton truly breakout with a 1112 yard season and he is hoping having a solid number 2 in Jeudy will allow him to dominate without being double covered all the time.
15. William Alexander - - Courland Sutton
Haven’t I taught you all anything… Tie goes to the Wraiths.
16. Saba Donut - - Julian Edelman
Patriots fans are going to hate but Edelman is an average talent who has been carried by Brady for years. His best season was last season when he didn’t have any weapons to compete with and is a check down master. His best season came in his 10th, and it still is virtually the exact same season as Sutton’s last, only he did it on much higher percentage passes being close to the line of scrimmage. You will never convince me that he is actually elite.
17. Mike Lee - Michael Gallup
To be honest, off of talent alone, he should probably be ahead of Edelman on this list, but whatever. Solid sophomore season with 1107 yards despite having Cooper to compete with. It will only get tougher with the CeeDee Lamb addition to the WR corps.
18. Red Arrow - - Cooper Kupp
Another tough one to peg. Like Edelman, he did a lot of his work closer to the line of scrimmage, and last season had a breakout 1161 yard season. If that continues he should also shoot up the board.
19. Rod Tidwell - - Rod Tidwell
I mean, Idk how good he even is. He doesn’t look like a prime-time athlete and seems to have Locker room issues, and faking an injury as a TD celebration is kinda lame, but I guess he was good? IDK, I think the Cardinals lost out on that deal.
20. Tychondrius Hood - - Danny Amendola
His biggest problem is he could never stay healthy. He only played a 16 game season 2 times in his 11 year career. In 2012 his pace was the best of his career going for 60.5 yards/game before injury. He ended with 666 yards… Don’t trust the mark of the beast!
Those not making the cut…
In no particular order
Ed Barker - Chris Carson
Deandre Thomas-Fox - Michael Vick
Jed Podolak - Ed Pokolak
Rayne Gordon - Braxton Berrios
Asher Quinn - Ryan Switzer
Michael Witheblock - Ahmarean Brown
Blake Alexander - Bryce Nunnely
Nick Kaepercolin - Colin Kaepernick
Thomas Passmann - Some big OL
Griff Oberwald - Someone from BloodBowl, whatever that is
Flash Panda - Panda from Tekken
Nacho Varga - Nacho Varga from Better call Saul
Bender B. Rodriquez - Bender from Futurama
Jah Bur’Berry - Honestly no idea...
Future Trunks - Some Anime person…
Some of these may be a surprise, but I stand by that Carson, Vick, Kaep or these others would be able to learn the job of WR and play it as well as the others on this list, even though they are uber-athletic. Bender is a dark horse cuz i think he can extend his arms, but his alcoholism and laziness will get in the way. The Blood Bowl guy would be a good DL, but alas. Also, Future Trunks is anime, so he probably has special powers and should be number one on this list, however, I don’t want to look up anymore than I already have, so weebs finish last...
Thats it for WR, now we head to that last position, the one that no one cares about and doesn’t matter for fantasy… Zero RB for life!!
RB
1. Ashley Owens - - Christian McCafferey
Coming off an impressive 1000/1000 season, this guy is most people’s consensus 1OA in fantasy this year. He does it all, on the ground and through the air. True dual threat weapon. Not much more you need to say about him
2. Apollo Reed - - Saquan Barkeley
Freak athlete, and he is the face of his franchise. Back to back 1000 yard seasons to start his career, and he did that despite missing 3 games last year. He is superhuman, and recovers from injuries quicker than us mortals.
3. Richard Gilbert - - Derrick Henry
Yet again we have two yeti in the top 3 of a list. They definitely win the off the bus award… So that’s something… For real, Henry is a beast. 1540 yards in 15 games last season. He is the definition of a workhorse back. Although not being used in the receiving game is his biggest weakness.
4. Kichwa Jones - - Dalvin Cook
True breakout in year 3 with 1135 yards in 14 games. He has had injury issues his first two seasons, but looks to be the future in Minnesota. He also gets it done through the air and is a true 3 down back..
5. Baby Yoda - - Baby Yoda
You could put Baby Yoda 1OA due to his superhuman powers alone. However, I argue the top four are also superhuman… Yoda can single handedly dominate the defense through his knowledge of the force. He could lift everyone up and make them unable to do anything at all. His biggest downsize, his speed, strength, size, small hands, and the fact that if he does lift the defense off the ground allowing himself to move through everyone, chances are he will need a nap for the rest of the game. Also, if he gets hit hard, he’s done for… If he gets to cruise around in his crib that is a plus. Also, he has a bounty hunter who would do anything to protect him so... This is the way
6. Jamar Lackson - - Lamar Jackson
1200 yards rushing… From a Quarterback… In the NFL… I think if he was an RB he’d still be a dynamic playmaker, just saying.
7. Dax Frost - - D’Andre Swift
Back to back 1000 yards rushing in the SEC, the Lions got their back of the future in Swift. Also, he has a great name, Swift. Most Swift’s are HOF locks amirite...
8. Darrel Williams - - Darrel Williams
Damien Williams was robbed for SuperBowl MVP! He had a great seas… Wait? This is the other Chiefs D Williams… Carry on.
8. Rando Cardrissian - - Raheem Mostert
His 220 yards in the NFC Championship game alone still haunt Packers fans. But the journeyman back found a home in San Francisco where he put up good numbers despite being in an Running Back By Committee Offense.
9. Orien Drake - - David Montgomery
889 yards in his rookie season leaves a lot to be desired, but he will get his chance next season again as the opportunity for touches is still there.
10. Mathias Hanyadi - - Andy Isabella
The UMASS grad put up great numbers in college as a WR, but his skill set would transition well out of the backfield… IDK, at least he’s a football player.
11. Darrel Williams - - Darrel Williams
I mean he’s probably fine… Just needs some playing time...
12. Michael Vincent - - John Kuhn
King of 1 yard TD carries, Kuhn revolutionized the Fullback position in that people actually knew his name. They occasionally gave him the ball and he plodded through there.
13. Mako Mendonca - - Billy Vunipola
If one sport transitions to football, it would be rugby. For all I know this guy would be great as he is one of the best Rugby Players out there, but the game is so different, I would worry he would run to contact and the padding on defenders would make him less of a bruiser and more of the bruised.
14. Sam Torenson - - Cole Holcomb
This guy is an NFL Linebacker. I Think he would be fine...
15. Tatsu Nakamura - - Taylor Rapp
Like Isabella and Holcomb, he plays football, so I’m sure it would translate, lol.
16. Julio Tiertawidjaja - - Rikiya Matsuda
Another Rugby stay, Rikiya has the same thing going for him as Vunipola, but unfortunately has the same things going against him.
17. Fuzzy Dotson - - Chris Gronkowski
He has Gronk in his name, so that’s something. He could be like a John Kuhn lite. Didn’t really do much in the NFL
18. Marcella Toriki - - Portia Woodman
Like the two previous, she is a rugby player and is way tougher than me… That is all I will say.
19. Ruff Ruff - - Dog
OK, so Ruff is a dog, specifically a Golden Retriever. I’ve seen Air Bud 2, Golden Receiver enough to know it can be done. If the balls are flat enough, he can carry them, and we have learned that that is possible to do. Additionally, at their top end speed, Goldens can run about 25 miles/hour. For reference, Usain Bolt’s top end speed is 27mph, so I think a dog could do quite well. Plus they are sneaky and shifty. I may be talking myself into moving him/her up the list. Either way, what a good boi!!!
20. Forrest Gump - - Forrest Gump
Ok, I know what you want to say. He was an All-American for Alabama under Bear Bryant!! But remember, that was as a kick returner, not an RB. For all we know, he wasn’t smart enough to play RB. I need my RB to be more than just fast. He needs to be smart and trustworthy, and catch passes out of the backfield. Plus he played in like the 60s, and we know athletes have improved since then. Plus, Plus, He is Tom hanks who looks like the most average athlete of all time... Also kinda funny that Nola is so low when they take so much pride in their run game...
Not making the cut
Ke’oke’o Kane-Maika’i - White Goodman (Dodgeball)
Acura Skyline - Adam Sandler
Rick Skuff - Hillbilly Jim
Running Back - ?
Farley Hank - ?
Ludicolo Bigby - Some Pokemon
Goodman Really knows how to grab the bull by the horns but he would be nothing without McShell. The rest are self explanatory. I mean, if pokemon were so much better, why do they get caught all the time?!?!
I did it, now leave me alone.
Again if you disagree with anything it is you who is in the wrong…
Luv u bye!
