A fact about Franklin Armstrong’s career you may not have known was the reason why he fell in the DSFL S14 draft all the way down to the 11th round. Armstrong had been complaining during press interviews that this league may just not be his thing. He was the 3rd string QB for the S13 Portland Pythons. Armstrong had not even seen the field and had a terrible showing in the Prospect Bowl for the Cobras. The combine went well but QBs he deemed inferior like Apollo Lang, Ryan Leaf Jr. etc were getting better press. Armstrong had felt this was unfair and had made his mind known that he had not been having the best time in this league. This probably scared away scouts from drafting him as he fell in the draft past most QBs. Despite this rough start, he was given the chance for the starting job in the Pythons training camp and eventually won the right to be the starting QB. He has been the starting QB for the Pythons and Otters ever since, winning 5 total MVPs, 4 rings, and multiple other honors. He may have had the most complete career for a QB in football history and it all started from shaky beginnings. He is now playing in his final season in the NSFL.
