I'm going to argue for Raylan Crowder to get the (probably fictional) Rookie DE of the year award at the end of this season by projecting stats from the first 2 games in a completely arbitrary manner across 16 games (by just timesing this by 8).
I'll compare this to the other big three DE from the S25 draft class. Albert Ruschmann, Tex Wrecks and newly reformed Medicinal Toblerone.
Stats Across 2 Games
Crowder - 6 Tackles, 1TFL, 1FF, 2 Sacks
Wrecks - 2 Tackles, 2 TFL
Ruschmann - 6 Tackles, 1 Sack
Toblerone - 8 Tackles 2 TFL
We can see from the above, Crowder is the only of the big 4 Rookies to have a forced fumble as well as stats in both TFL & Sacks. This immediately puts him above the competition.
If we project this across 16 games taking 0 variance into account in a very none scientific very botched manner we get the below.
Crowder - 48 Tackles, 8 TFL, 8FF, 16 Sacks
Wrecks - 16 Tackles, 16 TFL
Ruschmann - 48 Tackles, 8 sacks
Toblerone - 64 Tackles, 16 TFL
Crowders stats look infinitely better than Wrecks/Ruschmann here. Toblerone has a larger impact in the tackling game but her lack of QB takedowns let her down here.
Now I'm well aware there will be variance across the season with each of these players getting their fair share of decent games. It's fair to say the class of S25 has created at least 4 dominant DEs with a number of good DTs on top of that.
Sidenote: This is so anti-science/stats it hurt to even write. Either way TPE please.
