Is Mathias Hanyadi a Hall of Famer? There's certainly some points in that camp, but there are plenty of points against him as well. And it's going to be a question that comes up once he retires. One of the biggest issues he has is that in terms of yardage and scoring, he just doesn't measure up all that well against guys still in the league, such as Sam Torenson and Forrest Gump. Hell, one of his fellow S18 draftees, Marcella Toriki, beats him out in the yards from scrimmage race and it's a gap he's unable to close, especially now near the end of his career. Sure, he's had great seasons, but one could argue his best seasons are only above average when looking at some of the players ahead of him in the career totals. Of course, unlike many of the players on that list, Hanyadi missed a season due to Yellowknife still having Marshall and Canton on the team for one more season. Now, of course, there are a lot of negatives, but simply put, Hanyadi is arguably the most decorated running back of the modern era. An MVP, two OPoTYs, three RBoTYs, OPERoTY, and five pro bowls. He may not be a complete stat sheet stuffer like, say, Marquise Brown, but he certainly has the hardware to back him up. He also recently won his first Ultimus Bowl, crushing the Copperheads in the run game. Is he a Hall of Famer? Maybe, we shall see soon enough.
