William Lim wasn't even a football player when he walked into Seoul university. Actually, he hardly knew what American football was. William played baseball since the age of 5, mainly as a shortstop. He dreamed of going pro someday and to play in Korean Baseball league. However, that dream was cut short when William went undrafted in the KBO draft after his graduation from high school, mainly because of his bad batting skills and mediocre arm, which highly undermined his strong suit of defensive performance.
Following that, William decided that his days as an elite athlete was over, and walked on to Seoul University as a normal student. However, he was convinced to keep on playing in the university's baseball team by the coaches. But when his batting performance only regressed after one and a little more seasons, William was done with baseball for good. And as he was considering his career paths after baseball, the head coach of Seoul's football team approached William. He managed to convince William to join the team as a wide receiver, and utilize the speed and spectacular catching skills he showed as a baseball player.
The transition between sports were hard as expected. But William held on, and managed to familiarize himself with football. He played one and a half very successful seasons as Seoul's star receiver and kick/punt returner before he declared himself eligible for DSFL draft after graduating early from the school. People said the Birddogs were making a bad choice when they selected a wide receiver from South Korea with only 2 years of football experience. However, William proved the doubters wrong and cemented himself as one of ISFL's elite receivers even though his journey to that title was very long and rocky. (293)
