Yesterday, Mark Strike drove the Outlaws offense to a 19 point performance against a vaunted Orange County defense. Strike was 19/28, for 199 yards, including a 32-yarder, for one touchdown and one interception, for an admirable 85.3 rating. The rookie performed better than veteran Mike Boss, who had a lower completion percentage and more interceptions despite having nearly 5 times as much TPE as Strike. Strike likely will not start for the Outlaws in the regular season, since the QB depth chat is crowded, with King Bronko backed up by inactive Vincent Draxel. However, Strike will likely get mop-up duty in at least a couple games.

1. Such an early start for a young rookie. Is this a sign of something bigger or will you still be the backup in the regular season?
I hope to start a couple of games, but King [Bronko] is a really hard worker, so it would take a lot. However, in the S3 draft, I can see a QB-needy team picking me up, I'll likely get a full season under center. Both experiences are uniquely valuable, and I'm lucky to have them both
2. What do you believe you did best in your start? Worst?
I was quite accurate, with 67.8% completion. If I can maintain that, I'll be starting in no time. However, I'm not really thrilled about my yards per attempt, so maybe improving my speed will allow my mobile playing style to shine through.
3. How has the speed of the league been for you?
I'm still getting used to things, and I was a little surprised at how quickly I've been picked up.
