Borgo San Lorenzo has found something near and dear to his heart to put time towards this holiday season: helping mentor children who were affected by mob violence. San Lorenzo’s father never did say what he did for a living, always saying he had “business to take care of” whenever he left the house in the morning, and Borgo’s mother confided in him that the family had Italian Mafia connections. While Borgo never saw the effects of his father’s handiwork, he knows in his heart that it exists, and he feels the need to help mend the wounds, both physical and emotional, that are brought about by “activities” done by the mob. Borgo has recently spent time with some kids at a daycare dedicated to the kids of adults who have been affected by mod violence, and he’s also been spending some time working in a soup kitchen run by some contacts his mother put him in touch with, those who know how to stay out of the mob’s way and know how to help in the most influential ways without upsetting the mob. Borgo loves seeing the smiling faces of the kids whenever he shows up at the daycare with the Dallas Birddogs official mascot, Finn, for them to play with and pet as a way to relieve some stress.
