2. I'm just gonna start this task out right here with my hot take, season 23 was the best class in recent ISFL history. I know anyone not from season 23 will dispute this, but they're just biased. Season 23 is undebatably the best class currently playing in the league.
First off, I'll point out that S25 is a very good draft class as well. Already they hold so many positions of power, including ISFL and DSFL GMs like katarn22, slate, ShnarlyDude, Punter715, and more, and also members of HO or HO interns, GuitarMaster11 (and probably more than him but idk). r0tzbua is a streamer already too. But if you just set that aside, their players just haven't had enough time in the league to really start to reach their peaks and compete with the big boys in the ISFL, so the ISFL class of s23 is better, and here's why:
The class of season 23 had an amazing retention rate. We weren't the biggest class, at only 78 people in our DSFL draft, but we stuck around. The NSFL draft ended up having 93 people thanks to some late joiners who created before the trade deadline and were claimed on waivers by various DSFL teams. At one point people were saying our class had a 75% retention rate, which was absolutely unheard of in classes beforehand. This maaaayyyy be a little exaggerated, but it's still much higher than any other class, and I don't hear anyone saying that about the more recent classes.
I know you still might not be convinced of the clear superiority of my epic poggers class, so here's a list of all the top position players in the class of '23 compared to the class of '25, because S25 is the only class I feel even comes close to S23.
Quarterback:
Jackie Daytona, S25 (User mooty99) Current TPE: 577 ISFL S26 Stats: Not Available
Ok, I guess season 25 has a better quarterback class, but that's only because season 23 doesn't actually have a quarterback. To be fair though, mooty is a pretty cool guy. I've played werewolf with him and he's better than me, if only because he's more experienced.
Running Back:
Jameson Vermillion, S25 (User VainKnight) Current TPE: 598 ISFL S26 Stats: 588 Rush Yards, 6 Rush Touchdowns
Joseph Petrongolo, S23 (User Jo3fish5) Current TPE: 846 ISFL S26 Stats: 1053 Rush Yards, 8 Rush Touchdowns
Some people might call me biased when I say I'm the better running back, but honestly to me the numbers speak for themselves. My player has about 250 TPE more than Vermillion, more touchdowns, and almost twice the rush yards. VainKnight is a great user, I'll give him credit, and has a great future for his player in Yellowknife or wherever he may go, but he just isn't quite there yet.
Wide Receiver:
Killian Chambers, S25 (User charlit) Current TPE: 578 ISFL S26 Stats: 1020 Receiving Yards, 8 Receiving Touchdowns
Kai Sakura, S23 (User DarknessRising) Current TPE: 962 ISFL S26 Stats: 1283 Receiving Yards, 10 Receiving Touchdowns
This is a closer line than the other positions, at least in terms of stats, but the TPE difference is huge. Kai Sakura has the better of Killian Chambers by nearly 400 TPE. Killian Chambers came close in stats, but this is still a clear win for season 23. Both users are greta members of the league who I see everywhere, and I consider myself friendly with.
Tight End:
Dave Batista, S25 (User Frick_Nasty) Current TPE: 604 ISFL S26 Stats: 816 Receiving Yards, 5 Receiving Touchdowns
Rigby Raccoon, S25 (User dieselj123) Current TPE: 438 ISFL S26 Stats: 438 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving Touchdowns
Ok, so season 25 gets a win here. Frick is an awesome user and earner and his player had a great season. I remember back when diesel was new in the league, he was such a bright young star. He's since faded away and given his class it's second loss in this comparison.
Offensive Line:
Adam Mellott, S25 (User GuitarMaster116) Current TPE: 588 ISFL S26 Stats: 72 Pancakes, 4 Sacks Allowed
Greedy Sly, S23 (User Sylphreni) Current TPE: 941 ISFL S26 Stats: 68 Pancakes, 2 Sacks Allowed
This is definitely the closest battle stats-wise between the two seasons for the position. Makes sense, I guess, because pancakes are a random stat that doesn't even show up in the sim. But still, I have to give this one to the first overall pick in both the DSFL and the ISFL, Greedy Sly. He might not have had as many pancakes as S25's Adam Mellott, but he did have two fewer sacks allowed, which is big compared to the four of Adam Mellott.
I'm gonna go ahead and stop that there, because I think the trend is pretty obvious. Aside from the fact that there are no season 23 quarterbacks, season 23 is better in every offensive position other than tight end, and that trend continues for the defense. This clearly proves that season 23 is the ultimate draft class, since it is so much better than, in my opinion, the second best class in recent history.
