DSFL Season 27 Mock Draft
I'm making this draft with no bias and mainly focusing on team need. It's likely I'll miss some active players since I'm new. I'm also making this mock without considering trade opportunities even though some early ones are very likely. 2x reward new player post
1.) The Kansas City Coyotes select Quarterback Ishe Reallyinvisible. I can't see the Coyotes going anywhere else with this pick. After such a rough season they'll be looking for a splash impact player for their first overall selection. Their current Quarterback, Matt Peterson, is surely to be called up soon to the ISFL after being drafted in Season 25 which would leave a great need for the quarterback position. Ishe has truly shined in the Prospect bowl racking up the most total passing yards of any other QB even as a scrambler archetype player. This scrambler with a reliable arm is piloted by a fantastic user in Jpach who will certainly be able to turn this team around for season 27. 2.) The Tijuana Luchadores select Quarterback Raeni Clark. That's right, a 2nd quarterback already. Tijuana is in a rough spot with the 2nd overall pick mostly in part due to its inactive Quarterback Franklin Ali-West. Cornerback and defensive line is also a huge need for the Luchadores as they have no players on their defensive line and only two safeties on the roster with one being inactive. Despite those glaring needs, Tijuana won't want to waste the opportunity at a draft position of 2nd overall to take a star User at Quarterback. Clearing up this inactive thorn in their side will boost their team power greatly. Bex is an incredibly active user and long time standing User with a great history and will be a fantastic selection for the future of this team.
3.) The Minnesota Grey Ducks select Linebacker Dexter Hall. This is probably the biggest surprise of the first round. The Grey Ducks have only one glaring hole at the Linebacker position. With excellent impact players and active users available like Busch Goose and Dexter Zaylren, the Grey Ducks are in a tight spot needing to pick between team need and player ability. It's very likely this pick would be traded down to a team with more offensive needs. Dexter Hall is a true rookie player that has been incredibly active and is one of few active linebackers available. The Grey Ducks have only one user linebacker on their roster who is also currently inactive. This is a big problem for the Grey Ducks defense and I believe it may be too risky to try and wait for the 2nd round and lose out on an active Linebacker player. In the actual draft this'll likely get traded down for a late first round pick or early 2nd.
4.) The Dallas Birddogs select Runningback Busch Goose. The Birddogs have no blatantly inactive players and have atleast one player in each vital position. I can see this being a very good pick to trade down with or to trade their selection away for future picks. They'd certainly gather plenty of interest in a trade with Busch Goose still on the board at fourth. With only one offensive lineman on the roster this is their greatest team need, however, disregarding trades, Busch Goose still being available this far down will be a great pick as they take this star player to fill as their 2nd runningback on the roster alongside Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms. There is no need to rush an offensive line pick as most teams have greater needs and there will still be a great offensive lineman available in the 2nd round.
5.) The Norfolk Seawolves select Quarterback Dexter Zaylren. The Seawolves have many problems coming into Season 27. They have struck out twice in a row with inactive quarterbacks drafted to lead their team and have no runningbacks on their roster. I could see this team potentially trading up to get Busch Goose since their current inactive Quarterback still has 147 TPE. Since this draft mock is being build to disregard trades and there is no other clearly active and reliable runningback left on the board, I believe Dexter Zaylren will be their selection to take over as their starting Quarterback to be a reliable force in the locker room and lead their team into future seasons.
6.) The London Royals select Quarterback Jacob Raske. The London Royals are yet another team with an inactive quarterback and in need on a splash offensive player. With Busch Goose gone and many Quarterbacks already coming off the board, the Royals would be wise to take this returning veteran and recreate quarterback. Raske is performing well in the prospect bowl and the user, CLG Rampage, is a returning player who is surely looking to stamp his mark on the league and will be a great addition to the Luchadores team.
7.) The Portland Pythons select Wide Reciever Luke Quick. The Pythons have one of the most thorough rosters with their only inactives in the Tight end and Kicker spots while having an alternative already on the roster. As far as positional needs go they need more than one Wide Reciever for their League MVP Quarterback Lebron James III to throw to. Luke Quick is the best Wide Reciever prospect on the market as a long time veteran and active user BigRed1580. I can see this team booming a 2nd year in a row and potentially a back to back Ultimini appearance with aspirations to win the 2nd time around.
8.) The Bondi Beach Buccaneers select Quarterback Red Arrow Jr. The Buccaneers have now lost their starting Quarterback to the ISFL and will select the best remaining Quarterback in the draft. This leads me to believe they are very likely to trade up in the draft for a chance at better quarterback options as there are several teams with this similar need but none in as dire of a position as Bondi Beach. The user Redarrow is the first non-veteran user taken in this draft and will have a great responsibility on his shoulders in leading this reigning Ultimini championship team to further greatness.
