Well, Chuck chose to play football as a way to escape from his Texas upbringing. Not that there was anything wrong with his childhood or anything, he just did not enjoy living in Texas and longed for a new beginning. While at Dartmouth, Chuck was a very good offensive lineman, but by playing at a FCS school, he knew he needed to have a backup plan incase the jump in quality between FCS and the ISFL was too much. Chuck enjoyed school and even stayed an extra season to finish his degree (definitely not because he forgot to declare for the draft). He ended up majoring in architecture because the cute girl on his floor freshman year said she was taking an architecture class, so Chuck took it as an elective and ended up liking it so much that he majored in it. He even managed to find the time to do a pair of internships in the field, and really enjoyed them. His senior internship liked him so much that they gave him an open ended job offer for when his football career ended. Chuck truly enjoyed Architecture, and even helped redesign the Portland field when it changed after the end of season 25.
