The Second Line has had multiple gut wrenching losses. None worse than our recent overtime loss at home to the Honolulu Hahalua. Any loss at home is tough, but it is exponentially worse when you are in position to win the game and the sim makes the stupidest decision it possibly could. With just over two minutes to go in a tie game the Second Line got the ball on the Honolulu 48 yard line. The offense methodically drow down the field and with 1:26 to go Ben Slothlisberger spiked the ball on 1st and goal from the 8 yard line. This is where things go down hill. On 2nd and goal from the 8 yard line the sim decided it was a good idea to pass the ball, so Slothlisberger dropped back to pass and got sacked for an 11 yard loss to push the team back to the 19 yard line on 3rd and goal where Slothlisberger inexplicably spikes the ball again to stop the clock with 53 seconds to go. There's a number of reasons this doesn't make sense. Why stop the clock with 53 seconds to go making it 4th and goal? What would almost surely happen in this case would be the offense lining up and waiting until the clock hits under 40 seconds and kneeling the ball wherever the kicker would want it between the hash marks. Then the field goal unit would come out and kick a field goal as time expired to hopefully end the game with a win. At worst you miss the field goal and the game is in overtime. But what happened next is truly the stupidest decision I've seen the sim make. On 4th and goal from the 19 yard line the sim decided that NOLA should go for it and pass the ball. Are you fucking kidding me? We ended up losing in overtime after missing a 53 yard field goal as time expired in regulation. Fuck this sim.
