After a gut wrenching overtime loss to Baltimore in which Honolulu blew a 17 point 4th quarter lead the team returned to the locker room in silence with their heads down. Baltimore may not be a rival you'd think of for Honolulu, but both teams are working toward getting out of their rut and into contention, and Miles Weperom has publicly berated Baltimore on their franchise, it's a rivalry that has some merit. It was a good twenty minutes of silence with players only. Nobody took off their pads. Nobody showed any emotion. Dead silence until the coaches entered, stopped, looked at the team and said "Yeah. That's how you all should feel." And then they proceeded to enter the coaches office. It was about five more minutes of silence before Cobra Kai stood up and walked front and center and gave a short and sweet speech. "I just sat here and wallowed in my disgust. But for what? We can't change the past. I know for a fact we're still a better team, but we lost concentration. We phoned it in that last quarter. The only question now that matters is 'what do we do now?' I know this will make me work harder. Physically, mentally, emotionally. I'm working harder. I hope you all will too." Miles continued sitting in silence with his head down through all of Cobra's speech. It didn't look like it effected him at all, but it's now what you see on the outside; it's what you can't see on the inside. And on the inside there was a fire burning out of control within Miles. He was never going to let this happen again.
