Hmmm decisions decisions, do I inform my employer of a mistake made or do I instead keep my unearned bounty? Considering the fact that it would be almost impossible to know what the true source of the error is without serious research (could be the bank's fault for incorrectly funding the account, could be the team's fault and the payroll department gave me the wrong check or amount, heck it could even be my fault for not knowing what my own salary is), it would probably be too much trouble to dig up all the necessary information to correct the issue. Additionally at the end of the task the conclusion would make someone look bad at their job and potentially lose it, and I certainly don't want to be responsible for someone losing their job over something as silly as a little extra cash in hand. All this leads me to believe it is in fact the right thing to do in keeping my mouth shut and my now very deserved bonus check. What I would do with the money is another issue all together, do I spend it on training to make it feel like the team simply added extra investment in me as a player, or do I go off and buy some super cool signatures and tattoos and such? Looks like a whole other set of decisions needs to be made....
