As a waiver wire pickup since the beginning of my career, every penny has and will be counted from the first one to the last one. I will 100% be keeping every little bit of money I would be keeping and why you ask. These GM's have been making the teams more money than you could imagine on a daily basis and on top of that been making as much money as players if not more. I would not be spending it all at once since that may be a little suspicious for my teammates and coaches to see me with new house/car/belongings.
The smart thing to do would be to invest the money, especially for someone like me not knowing how long my career will be, especially being picked up off the streets undrafted to start my career. Making sure I set myself and my family up for the long run would be the way to go. Don't get me wrong though, I may still spend a bit of it on personal belongings but only enough to not be noticeable. This is a little out of my comfort zone since I am usually an honest person but 4 million is to much to pass up on.
