Sarasota's only bot is their Center, Coral Reef. A 6 foot 7, 325 pound drink of water from the local collegiate ranks, Reef is not always the best blocker, compared to all-pros like Stumpy Jones, but he is a consummate professional who does his job well enough, relying on physical strength more than refined technique. The Sarasota Offensive Line has only given up 35 sacks, tied for 3rd fewest in the league, and Reef's ability to send out the pre-snap adjustments and help his line pick up the blitzes has been an underrated component of that.
In the local community, Reef is also proving to be a salt of the earth type, active in local charities and doing speeches to troubled youths to steer them away from the horrors of drugs, alcohol addictions, and getting drafted by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers of the DSFL. Reef's presence has been a positive, and fans are hoping he gets extended for a reasonable contract instead of getting tossed aside for some inactive schnook.
