14. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?
After a rough series of seasons with the Baltimore Hawks to start Dante King's career, things were finally looking up heading into the S33 season. After a long but meticulously crafted rebuild that netted the team an atrocious 16-48 record since Dante was called up in S29, the team finally saw the fruits of its labor emerge with one of the highest team total and average TPEs in the league. With the offseason signings of Sam the Onion Man and Raeni Clarke, the team looked poise to go from worst to first, although many hurdles were still in the way. The season got off to a hot start as the Hawks compiled an 8-1 record to start the season, with the only loss being by just one point on a Philadelphia Liberty TD with two minutes to go on the road, which is nothing to sneeze at. A slight midseason skid saw three losses on the road to Sarasota, Colorado, and Austin, which threatened to cause Baltimore to miss the playoffs after such an exceedingly great opening run, but the team righted the ship with a 3-1 close to the year that saw them slide into the postseason as the second seed in the NSFC. When the playoffs arrived, things got really fun. A 23-14 victory over the Chicago Butchers, in which Dante King vastly outperformed fellow RB Busch Goose (7.5 YPC vs 1.9 YPC respectively) was followed up with a thrilling road win over the overly cocky Sarasota Sailfish that saw Baltimore jump out to a 30-10 lead before almost, but not quite, blowing it after allowing two touchdowns in the last five minutes of the game. Finally, the Hawks ended up victorious in one of the most exciting Ultimus games of all time, going down 24-0 in the first quarter against the upstart Orange County Otters before storming back to ultimately tying the game up at 38-38 with 2:32 remaining in the game and kicking the game-winning 51 yard field goal with a minute to go. The Hawks are champions!

Another season is in the books for the ISFL, which means there's another round of awards to be given out to the highest performing players across the league. One award that has a clear and obvious frontrunner who should definitely be favored to win is the Linebacker of the Year award, which is destined to go to Sheriff Woody of the Baltimore Hawks (@TomHanks). While other LBs like Melvin Murder-Moose may have had gaudier all-around statlines, Woody was second in the league with an astonishing nineteen sacks on the year, including a game-winning safety on Chicago Butchers QB Kazimir Oles Jr. to take home a week one victory, which is clearly one of the most impactful single defensive plays of the season. And to make it even more impressive, he did this all while being a stuffed toy that stands barely over a foot tall, meaning he has a massive advantage in terms of sacks per square inch compared to his competition. Vote Sheriff Woody as the best linebacker around!
