If Grayson Yates were to write a book about his career, it would definitely be about his story getting into the DSFL. It would start off describing how he got into football and how he was a promising quarterback in middle school. Then it would follow him into high school, where he learned that his new team already had a star quarterback and he had to quickly adapt to get a roster spot. Eventually he was able to use his speed and strength to transition to defensive tackle. After a successful move from quarterback to defensive tackle Yates went to Montana State. After two years of playing in college he declared for the DSFL draft and went undrafted. Obviously disappointed, he went to thinking about ways he could get into the league, but soon after the draft ended he got a call from the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. But the twist is, they wanted him to switch to quarterback! Yates agreed, willing to play any position in the DSFL and now after week 4 he's led his team to a 2-2 record in a position he hasn't played since middle school.
