Adam Schell's training camp would be focused on the mental side of football. There are plenty of camps out there to work kids' technique, strength, speed, and athletic ability. Schell, however, did not rise to the top of the league by being the best athlete, but by being the best student of the game. At Schell's camp, there would be three sessions. First, participants would watch film with Schell as he would pause it and tell them the important things to notice in various videos and plays. Next, they would split into smaller groups and practice it with each other, seeing things for themselves and working on their own observation skills. The end of camp, though, is what the kids would all look forward to. A full game of football. They'd play the first half and then have a full hour-long halftime. During this halftime session, they would watch film of the first half with their coaches, with Adam spending 30 minutes with each team helping them to scout and make adjustments. After the second half, they would spend some time talking about how much easier it was to play against each other when they realized more of the tendencies of their opponents. Schell would send them out prepared to, hopefully, become even better students of the game he loves.
