Nobody would accuse Mandrews McHollywood of being a star quarterback, but when you’ve got kids running routes from the age of 6 to 15 you need someone with a decent arm to also work on catching so that was McHollywoods job for the day, on top of showing the kids what routes to run.
About 25 kids showed up to learn how to play wide receiver from the future #1 New York Silverbacks wideout and with little to no experience in teaching Mandrews was able to throw together a nice little camp with a football and about 4 little Orange cones.
Mandrews himself specializes in the route styles that get him down the field fast, such as the streak, the slant, and the corner. Focus was especially given to little idiosyncrasies that get a player open like little hip fakes and fake head turns to fool opposing cornerbacks, as well as solid catch mechanics to attack the football instead of letting it come to you.
