I gotta start with a big thanks to everyone who helped me get this far, I wouldn't have made it this far in the league without all the help I received in the beginning, you know who you are if you're reading this. I honestly didn't think I was going to stick around, I struggled a lot to really grasp everything and not only that it felt like a lot all at once, I guess in less words I was also afraid of failure, I didn't want to be the one the held everyone back and I couldn't live with being that "anchor" And look at me now. Potential first rounder and arguably the best Defensive end in the draft, Not my words I'm just quoting some of the mock drafts. And none of this would have been possible without the kindness of others! I had to do what I had to do and that was asking questions, if you're a newbie to all of this and you don't want to be a burden, be one. I had to push and pick at every single thing I didn't understand, I asked questions so much I legit might have pissed a few people off haha but that's kind of a way of football. For those who read that last sentence hear me out. Say you're the veteran quarterback and you're at the tail end of your career, your team just drafted a brand spanking new quarterback to be your "replacement" when your time comes, he is most likely going to ask and ask and ask, "What should I do here" "What did I do wrong there" "What do you think" ask and ask and ask. That in a way is what I did, I was clueless! So I asked who is the greatest at my position, I looked their player up and I looked at what they did that made them so great. Now that being said I didn't do exactly everything but I got a feel for what works! And now the only thing I have left to do is leave it all on the field! No one wants to be the "Jamarcus Russel" of the ISFL, just because you make it into the "First Rounders" Doesn't mean that the word and grind stops there. A lot of times all the hard work pays off and gets you drafted top five but then you sit back and relax because you think I got my big contract and I got the limelight of being a first rounder and your career might as well just stop there, You have to want more than that when you get drafted high, the bus cant stop there, you have to want more than that. A big thanks for everyone that helped me get to where I am now, I will make sure to take the knowledge you have given to me and pass it on to others!
Now for the team that started it all! I gotta admit I'm surprised how high I was drafted, at the rate that I was falling below my TPE expectations I should have been drafted in the final round, But luckily for me I appreciated every single scout that gave me a chance and talked to me and I gave every single one of them the same amount of respect! I told them all the same thing, I just want to win and be the best player I possibly can be. And I know that's such a cliché thing to say because "Duh who doesn't want to win and be the best" but there's just something about this sport that brings out the best in me, I will put an inhumanely amount of time into this everyday. And now I've expanded the amount of time I put into this by applying for a General Manager position in Dallas. Why? Because team loyalty is a huge thing to me, shit on Dallas all you want man, I will go to the edge of the world for the team that deemed me good enough to draft me. Team loyalty isn't something you see very much anymore, I made sure to explain this to a lot of the ISFL scouts, If you get drafted and immediately ask for trade because you find that the team isn't a playoff contender you shouldn't be a football player, plain and simple. I understand that is just my opinion but to be the turning stone for an organization when they need you the most is probably the best feeling in the world, to hell with witnessing the birth of your first born child I wanna see my team go from the lowest they've been to on top of the football world and that's what I hope to do with Dallas. We're hoping to bring in some brand spanking new talent and turn things around! It's not gonna be easy but I think with some blood sweat and tears it can be done! And don't think I don't have a mental note of all the haters from along the way! I remember and I remember well.
And now we're only a couple hours away from the draft. Funny how fast a season goes by eh? Seems like it was like a week ago I was drafted into the DSFL just a young lad not having a clue what he was doing and not even sure if he was going to stand a chance in the league. And thanks to the help of everyone in this wonderful community tomorrow I just might have a chance and having one the best careers a guy could ask for! Big shoutout to everyone in the league discord man y'all are great! Truly the back bone of this whole thing, if it wasn't for you I don't even want to think about what would happen to this league! You're here everyday making it fun for not only yourselves but for the rest of us too! Thank you!!!
