i would genuinely encourage any team looking to draft OL to pick you over me at this point.
keep doing what you're doing though, love to see new users dive straight in like this.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. My gut says there will be more than one OL taken in the first round, but with all the team needs in (arguably) more impactful positions, it'll be interesting who takes them. I know my list is probably overweighted to re-creates, but the problem with new users is they are much harder to research, some guys who may be superstars just joined the forum this week, and they have no history to query.
As a point of reference, I was completely floored by the run of quarterbacks in the ISFL draft this season, so I have much to learn about how teams make their decisions.
The DSFL is a weird one really because the goals are so different to ISFL (to my understanding anyway)
For ISFL everyone ultimately has the same long-term goal of winning championships. So you can sort of predict things like QB picks to a degree because you can tell who will need a successor at QB in the next few seasons, making it the ideal time to pick one up now in the DSFL... but in DSFL, while you want to win championships, you can't really "build" a team (in the same way you can in the ISFL) because good players usually get called up pretty quickly. This means that while you do still want to pick for team needs, there's generally a lot more focus on drafting new users to get them properly acclimated to the league as a whole, and building a sort of supportive environment, a community culture of sorts to retain new users. You're right about new users not having much history to judge them by either, but that just means that the skew toward new users is especially focused on new users who are engaged and active and doing things both on the forums and discord (hey do you know anyone like that? )
With that in mind, even with my experience and history... I'd expect you to be drafted before me.
That all said, I've never been a DSFL GM so ... pinch of salt and all that. Also, if you do want to learn about how teams make their decisions on things like this, you can mention to anyone scouting you (or your future GM after the draft) that you'd like to be in a war room.
Good luck though! Hope you enjoy it wherever you land.
