This season has been one to forget if you're a member of the San Jose SaberCats. Dane Johnson Jr. has a few things to get done in the offseason. The primary focus is on getting better and being a better player come next season, so offseason conditioning and training is vital. Beyond that, Dane's House of Pancakes has been steadily growing to the point where it's well past his ability to actually run the company. He has sold a controlling share to the new CEO Michael Collins, who has more than 25 years of restaurant experience. Collins now takes on the role of the day-to-day manager of the company's operations and expansion plan. The House of Pancakes started as a concession stand in SaberCats Stadium, but the idea caught on to the point that Dane saw an opportunity to open a full-time business. Success has been immeasurable as one store swiftly became eight, which has now ballooned to sixty-two pancake restaurants in six states. Dane hopes to retain some of that creative direction that he believes got the company in the right direction to start out.
