After being in the playoffs only 2 times in the last 9 seasons and not having a winning season in at least the last 10 the Bondi Beach Buccaneers really wanted it in season 37 of the DSFL. Hot out of the gate when the season started the Bucs won their first six games and went 5-3 for the remainder of the season to end with a league best 11-3 record. The game plan was nicely spread and had an almost 50-50 mix between passes and runs. The actual numbers were 427 passing attempts with 252 completions for a 59% completion rate. QB Grayson Yates had also 29 TDs and 10 ints for a QB-rating of 96.6. The Bucs had two wide receivers with 1000+ yards for the season. Veterans Derrick Prince and Dip Dhillon combined also for 25 TDs. Rookie wide receiver twerky dingleberry was the third weapon in the aerial attack for the Bucs, he contributed 548 yards and one TD. The wrecking machine in the running game was rookie RB Armor Queen with 1627 yards on 407 carries and 14 TDs which are 90% of all rushing attempts for the Bucs. The rookie class also let her marks on the defensive side of the ball. The linebacking corps for the Bucs was "rookies-only". Zavier Perkins, GOAT TANK, Alexander Lawrence and Camron Washington had a total of 300 tackles, 5 interceptions and 13 sacks. The defensive backs were led by veteran Jason Oexius who had 91 tackles and two interceptions. In the playoffs it was Grayson Yates who dominated everything with 7 TDs. The Bucs scored the only other TD on a interception return Pick-6 by Jason Oexius. RB Armor Queen tired the opposite with his rushing like he did all season long. He had 60 rushing attempts in the two playoff games for 263 yards. The season ended with a week-long celebration at Bondi Beach were the Bucs faithful celebrated the 5th championship for the franchise in style.
In the ISFL the S37 champion are the Arizona Outlaws. The season started not very impressing for the Outlaws who have been in the playoffs every single time the last 10 seasons. At season halftime the record for the Outlaws stood at 3-5 but they finished the regular season with 8 wins ending with a 11-5 record. Over the course of the season the offensive game plan was for the opponents very unpredictable. The Outlaws had the league leading rusher with Jay Cue jr. Jay accumulated 1,793 rushing yards and 21 TDs, on top of that he also was part of the passing attack with 56 catches for 465 yards and 6 TDS. This gave Jay more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and he will be a prime candidate for league MVP in my opinion. Outlaws QB Wendell Sailor had himself also a pretty good year. 4094 yards with 38 TDs ( 1st in the league) and 18 interceptions resulted in a 100.4 QB rating which was also first in the league. The leading wide receivers for the Outlaws were 7-year veteran Katoni Staggs with 1302 yards and 11 TDs and 4-year veteran 'Captain' Billy Stinkwater with 1048 yards and 9 TDs. On the defensive side all 3 starting linebackers had 90+ tackles and LB Leonardo McTurtle and DT Raphael McTurtle together had 25 sacks. CB Mark Goodhead was the league leader in interceptions with 9. The Outlaws cruised thru the playoffs and won the three games by a total of 99-40 points. The Outlaws are ver solid all thr their roster and the management will make sure the team will always be part of the playoffs in the future.
