Task 7: >S36
I joined the ISFL in April 2022 after I saw a reddit post on r/NFL advertising the league and I'm glad I did join it as it has been an enjoyable experience. It has been fun to interact and speak with other people in the league and watch the games, especially with the emotional investment of having your own player. For the DSFL it was enjoyable as Glims and the Bondi Beach locker room was active and friendly, beyond that I can't comment as I only spent one season and it was a 2-12 season that was easy to forget. The scouting process as a player is somewhat annoying but not that intrusive, as it takes only a couple of minutes and most of the scouts ask similar questions so it didn't take much thinking to answer. The draft for me in particular was an exercise in insanity in frustration, as I was a DSFL capped player that fell to the 4th round. This was caused by Season 36 being a great draft class (for reference, Arizona traded a S37 1st for a 3rd in this pick and drafted a capped linebacker in Akaki), but it was still frustrating. Hindsight makes it worse as some of the defensive tackles that went ahead of me are inactive as well. This worked out in my favor however as since me falling so far allowed my team (Berlin) to create the defense that was seen in Season 37. As a player in the ISFL it is fun to see your build make plays in games. I think my build in particular being an interior defensive lineman is fun as instead of sacks and pass rush my player is more of a run stopping presence, and with how the ISFL has skewed towards elite running backs, especially with this being Jay Cue Jr's peak is more enjoyable than a random free rusher sack that one would get.
Task 29: Awards
In Season 36, the awards was changed from a singular player of the year at each position to two All-Pro teams, similar to the NFL (I don't know what other changes were made in regards to things as voting.) This made it so that there would be wider recognition of players instead of a singular player being commended for exemplary play. I believe this addition of All-Pro teams instead of singular positional awards was a good change, as it the goal of its creation, to recognize great players that would otherwise go unrecognized, was a good thing. I also participated in some respect to the awards process as Berlin's awards representative where I both nominated players from the Fire Salamanders for player of the week during the season, as well as trying to give my teammates recognition for the end of season awards. I would hope that my actions in particular helped in the decision making process, and that I was a welcome presence in that respect.
