Long Form 3
My player has just finished his 2nd season so I am almost positive I will be called up to the Otters this season. The otters are in an interesting spot. They are deep into a rebuild and have acquired a lot of 1st round picks and have also been able to start surprisingly competitive while doing so. The longterm plan on offense has been to spend a lot of first round talent on offensive weapons and set the table for a young quarterback to take the reins. With both first round picks in S38 dedicated to WR and a T and a stash of young running backs. With a few season of development, it should be one of the top offenses in the league. This season tho, I am not sure how effective we'll be. Adding my player to the offense will give I think an upgrade to the 4th receiver from last season or might even be a push. I think we stay pretty much the same from last season. Maybe just a smidge better than last year as more tpe will be added as the season pushes on. A slight step forward would be a win I think. I am excited to follow a little closer this season.
The defense from my understand is going to be a little rough. There's a lot of holes an a few Ia's that we will need to replace in the next few seasons. That should be what we prioritize with the draft and FA. Defense is a scarce commodity tho so it is easier said than done. I expect the defense will lag behind the offense. With the right moves, there should be improvement on that front this season. Hopefully some good defensive prospect can be found in the draft.
Looking at my player. I expect that I won't be a huge factor on the offense right way. I was able to have a lot of volume in Norfolk and put up some really solid numbers. With Oco, I am coming into a little more crowded of a wide receiver room. I am going to have to earn my keep on the roster before getting the volume I saw in the DSFL. Long term I see my player fitting in as the 1 or 2 option on a stacked offense. I really believe the moves that OCO has made set them up for having a great offensive team. I a def biased in that respect. I hope I can maintain the pace earnings wise and be a capped player for a few seasons. Wide receiver is a position where scheme and volume matter just as much how much Tpe you have.
The management in OCO has to be some of the best in the league. Slate is great with the sim and knows it inside and out as well as a great locker room presence. Beck is a great manager that cultivates and prioritizes a good locker room culture. The two compliment each other really well and have a good knack for scouting. Oco has not had the success they are accustomed to the last few seasons , but they are differently on the right track to get back to their dynastic ways. Success in this league is based on getting people engaged and made to feel apart of something. Teams that accomplish that are able to get players to earn tpe to the most of their abilities. They can cox an update out of an IA player or FA and have the tools to sustain success. Oco is on the path to becoming that in the future. The building blocks are in place.
