16) The season is over and, wow, what another great season for the Arizona Outlaws. The standard and/or goal was set very high coming into S38 as the reigning champs. Obviously it was to win the Ultimus again and boy did they deliver. Unlike S37 with the 3-5 start and an uphill battle to the playoffs, the S38 Outlaws started off 5-0 with their first loss coming in a close upset to Austin. That didn’t derail us as stayed hot, winning 4 more, before finally finishing the season at 13-3. Our best record since S30 where we finished 14-2. The team was led by now Two-Time (yes two time) MVP Wendel Sailor at QB and DPotY Mark Goodhead. But their individual brilliance doesn’t tell the whole story of the season. Arizona was far from a 2 man show. They had 7 all pros in Sailor, Cue Jr, Staggs, Stinkwater, Mangoldson, R. McTurtle, and Goodhead. This was tied for the most players selected from one team in the league. The team finished with a league most 479 points for while only allowing 347 points (2nd best in the league). The Outlaws were dominate on both sides of the ball and it showed up throughout the season and playoffs as well. Arizona spoiled their fans going 8-0 at home during the regular season and 2-0 at home during the playoffs. It really was a fun and amazing season for players and fans alike. The playoffs were much tighter games than the regular season stompings (which is to be expected). The first round bye meant Arizona walked into the semifinals well rested. That little bit of rust was present as the Outlaws saw themselves down 20-14 at halftime. A couple of quick scored in the 3rd and 4th put the game out of reach and ensured the comeback complete by a final score of 31-28. The Ultimus showed no signs of rust as Arizona hopped out to a 17-7 lead at half before pushing it to a 23-14 game with a few minutes left. Berlin got a garbage time TD to make the final score 23-21. Victory to the good guys. Back to back champs!
23) The sim engine is great. I know the saying is “sim gonna sim” which is the equivalent of calling the sim a bitch. But the sim is not a bitch. The sim is just misunderstood and those who can’t figure it out are taking their anger out on it. In order to understand the sim, you must spend time with the sim. You must wine and dine the sim. Engage with the sim and let the sim know you care about it and the sim will return the favor and care about one. One cannot simply show up drunk to the sims house and expect solid results. The sim requires a relationship first. The sim is not going to give you what you want on the first, second, or third date. The sim wants to know you love it and it will reciprocate the love. Be nice to the sim and the sim will be nice to you. Ask Wolverine Studios permission before you start sim testing. Be respectful. It’s not that hard people. Just follow the golden rule: treat sims how you would want sims to treat you. So in short. I love the sim and the sim loves me. No need to change to any other DDSPF. I’ve got kids with this sim engine and the divorce would ruin their lives.
