8. In 300 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?
I was lucky enough to be drafted by the Royals in round 4 of the Season 40 DSFL draft. I had a death in the family right before the draft which made me go a little IA and I wasn’t even able to talk to all the teams who were trying to scout me, London included but they took a flyer on me and I certainly hope they’re happy with the choice. I sure am.
In general though, I can’t think of a single interaction throughout the entire season that has been unpleasant. The rookie DSFL discord has been full of laughs, memes, light-hearted banter and of course tons of help from the mentors and older players who’ve been around just a bit longer than I have.
As far as some of the standouts for users I’ve met during my first season here I would definitely say the two GMs for London (@Alikh & @Gordon Bombay); they’ve made the experience so enjoyable and smooth. They really have made the London locker room a great place to hang out and interact with teammates. @Sebster was the scout that initially tried reaching out and once I told him the situation, he seemed to be more concerned about me as a person than the drafting which felt really nice. He reached out a few times while my family and I were tending to the matter just to see how I was doing. As much as everyone jokes about Seb on the site, the discords etc… he’ll always have my respect for that. @Twenty6 is another one who makes the London LR what it is. He’s always in there helping out in one way or another be it with builds, prediction help, doing some play by play during the games and pinging users when their players make a big play. It’s really been a great experience for me and one I ended up enjoying so much that I was asked to be GM for London and now I share that role with Alikh. I’m just hoping to keep it as cool as it was when I came in.

16. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?
So as I explained earlier, my player Max Honestly was drafted in the fourth round by London. Why I fell that far I’m not totally sure of, but it probably had to do with being a new user and my lack of being able to have scouting convos with all the teams. Regardless, I think it was a win-win for both myself and London. They got, what I would consider at least, a steal of a user in the 4th and I got to meet some awesome people along the way.
On top of that, London picked three players ahead of me and managed to really land a few good users in: @Jumbo player Loose Cannon is projected to be a clear first round pick, @DL14 who has stood out as a real spark of energy in an already energetic locker room, @nickWilliams whose player is appropriately named Nick Williams is also a really active user and puts out some siiiiick graphics.
I’m going to go through some highs and lows for my player personally. I am, in general, just happy to help the team win in any way I can. Personal stats are nice, but wins are definitely what I’m more interested in. So with that said, I wasn’t really worried about stats being the second TE, because let’s be honest, they’re not going to happen. But it eventually became clear in the later part of the season that we needed a little help on defense so I offered to make the switch and it really felt like a breath of fresh air. Nick Williams was able to have that TE spot to his own and I jumped over to the other side of the ball and helped Loose Cannon and the rest of the D get some more stops.
Had I known how the season would turn out, I would have used my position switch earlier from TE to LB. But here we are, and hindsight is always 20/20. I think everyone in London, myself included is just hoping to improve and head back to the playoffs again next year and maybe snag ourselves an Ultimini. We had a tough loss to the Pythons who really had our number this season and we’re probably going to get hit with some ISFL callups but hopefully we can get some good players in the draft and get back some of our London magic.
