11. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.
This season was a season of growth for Really Creative-Name. As he grew into his role as the WR3 in Berlin, the young player was putting together a nice season. But about 2/3 of the way through the season, a shocking development came out. Octavio Perez was leaving! Perez had been the WR2 in Berlin the last several seasons, and Creative-Name had never played a game in the league without him on the team. Because of this development, Creative-Name was called into the coach's office and given the promotion to be WR2 the rest of the season. This meant better coverage, more pressure, and more expectation on the young second year player than anyone (himself included) had expected coming into his sophomore season. Creative-Name reportedly immediately went to the film room and studied his new assignment, as well as looking at the people who would cover him for the rest of the year. You don't think about it as a fan, but this is a lot of work to take on halfway through a season when everyone has figured out their routine and rhythms. But Creative-Name was not to be deterred. This was his big opportunity and he was not about to let it go to waste. With the permission of the franchise owner, Creative-Name moved into the stadium for the last 6 weeks of the season. He watched hours of game film, studied his new route trees that he was now responsible for, and was in the gym for hours at a time. He added a tire to the pile he was pulling, added a mile to his pre-practice run, and finally cut McDonalds completely out of his diet. It was clear, his time had arrived and Creative-Name took it very seriously. Ending the season with new personal bests in receptions, yards, touchdowns, yards per catch, and a new record long reception, it was certainly a successful season for the young man.
17. Going to Disney World! Who was the Ultimus or Ultimini Game MVP? Give us a rundown of their celebratory trip to Disney World. (Written Task)
I am always a fan of non-quarterback MVPs, and there were a lot of candidates in this game. Leonardo McTurtle scored a defensive touchdown, Amari Springer had a key interception, and Louis Blondin and Sherwin Blue Jr. both scored a pair of touchdowns during the game. But when it came down to it, the leader of the Arizona Outlaws, quarterback Wendell Sailor had a pretty darn perfect game on the biggest stage. Completing nearly 69% of his passes (nice) for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns along with 0 turnovers, it's impossible not to give him the trophy. On Sailor's trip to Disney world, however, he was surprised by just how anonymous he was. As he went around the park, he expected fans to be asking for autographs and pictures to keep as souvenirs, but it simply did not happen. As he considered why this might be, he asked someone who was wearing his own jersey if he knew who he was. Bewildered when the fan did not know him, he told him who he was. The fan was astonished and said, "You look nothing like you do on TV!" Sailor asked to see the game as the fan had watched it, and seeing himself on the screen as a red dot, he had to admit that graphics still had a long ways to go before he could expect fans to chase him down for autographs. Dejected, the QB hopped on "It's a small world" and rode the ride until closing, humming along with the spooky animatronics for the rest of the night.
26. if your player wasn't a professional in the ISFL/DSFL, what would they be doing instead?
For Really Creative-Name, there was never a plan B. Football has been in his family since his uncle joined the league and following in his uncle's footsteps to join the Berlin Fire Salamanders was always the plan. Creative-Name will tell you, though, that the plan after football is to go into musical theatre. He has been singing and acting since he was a little kid, and while football is his first passion, the theatre is not a distant #2. His dream role is to be Shrek and he's been working on his Scottish accent ever since he first saw the Dreamworks hit. Unfortunately, much like football, a successful career in the world of musical theatre is the equivalent of about 6 full time jobs, so while he will continue to work on his voice and take in the theatre whenever he has the opportunity to, that dream will just have to wait until he wins himself a couple big, shiny trophies in the ISFL.
