As teams are prepping for the playoffs activities outside of football become less of a priority for players. This is not the case for NOLA LB Lukas Van Ness as his team has 1 win. Being apart of the team with the worst record has its perks. You can focus on things other than football. After the Week 11 game Nike connected the young rookie to ask if he would like to participate in their Kicks for Kids event. Here immediately accepted this opportunity to help give away shoes to kids who couldn't afford them. The event was held in a small town outside of New Orleans so it was easy to get to. When he arrived he stumbled upon dozens of volunteers setting up the event so Lukas thought to chip in. He lifted all sorts of containers filled with shoes, food and stage equipment. The kids arrived soon and immediately recognized the football star from their home team. Hundreds lined up to meet him. After he was done Lukas's hand was sore from all the shoes he signed. But it was a price he was willing to pay to see those kids smile.
