This will likely be Dane Johnson Jr.'s last season in the ISFL. The toll on the body is huge for professional players, and in particular the big guys up front. Luckily Dane has several avenues to keep him occupied and paid moving forward in life. First, he's been fortunate enough to open several restaurants on the West coast that are doing quite well. While he's been playing the general manager of the chain has had to make all the decisions, but Dane plans to get more involved post retirement. The second plan is going to be to purchase a ranch and get a cattle farm up and running. Farming is incredibly tough work but it's the only thing he's found that is more rewarding than football. The early plan is to keep things small with maybe 90 head of cattle on a smaller ranch, but if things go well Dane plans on taking it to the big leagues. Last offseason he spent about six weeks in an RV driving around Montana looking for potential plots of land, and he's zeroed in on two that really fit the bill. So for big fans of #73, keep an eye out for Johnson Steaks coming your way soon!
