While Jason Steele was a freshman at the University of Georgia, the defensive tackle in front of him on the depth chart blew out his knee halfway through the season against Tennessee. This left the wide eyed freshman with some big shoes to fill. Stepping into his new role, Steele found quick success amassing four sacks and nine tackles to finish the season. Being able to fill the role on a moments notice helped keep the UGA defense alive and able to end the season with a national championship. And the success didn't stop there for Steele and the Dawgs, they went on to win back to back national championships. The glowing performance of Steele during these two championships is what led to him being a first round pick for the Kansas City Coyotes and then later become a second round pick to the Cape Town Crash. Every drop of success that Jason Steele has experienced in his football career can be traced back to that fateful game against Tennessee.
