Task 9
I believe that the moment that changed the norfolk seawolves from being a perennial cellar dweller into the consistent contender that they are now, was the hiring of Negs as GM. As much as we all like to make fun of Negs for pretty much anything, it is undenaiable that his hiring triggered a massive change in Norfolk. The first major impact was the season 30 (ISFL season 31) draft class bringing players such as Nathan Claflin, Sconnie Mchits, and Malcom Savage, who would define the Seawolves and win them back to back championships in seasons 32 and 33. While the 3-11 s30 season certainly wasnt a great start to the era, s31 would greatly build upon it These players would go on to win any awards such as Most Valuable Players, Defensive rookie and player of the year, a plethora of positional awards, and of course the 2 trophies, the second and third respectively in seawolves history. Overall in a simply sim based context Negs had a very succesfull GM stint. It is only made more impressive when you see the user base that he drafted and Developed, being the DSFL GM for such league fixtures as me, G2019, ImSatanJunior, myrrh, and many others. These users not only did great things for the seawolves, but have gone on to do great things in the league, such as GM on boh the ISFL and DSFL levels with both the Seawolves and other teams, many different league jobs, and have been an overall addition to the commmunity. It is in this way, that I consider Negs to have helped the Seawolves and the league the most. Overall, while we like to joke about how bad his players are and were, or how bad he smells, or how terrible his food takes can be, he is certainly a user that you couldnt write seawolves or even general league history without mentioning.
Task 24
For an activity as strange as simulation football, I feel like the championship game halftime shows have to share an equal amount of oddness. So to assemble a show of musical acts as strange as gathering nightly to watch little dots run around a field and as diverse as the locations we have held championship games, while also being a tribute to some of the most famous and infamous stream soundtracks I must start with the epitome of weird, The Unipiper, who will ride around and perform a variety of tunes. He will then be followed by a Mongolian Throat singer, a childrens music band (and not the good kind), an obnouxious chiptune set, and a medieval minstrel group. Finally as the big finale, we will unveil that Bicycling “marching band” from the Netherlands. This will truly produce a spectacle unrivaled in both diversity and oddness by any other sports league in the world.
Task 28
My “improved” version of football, henceforth to be referred to as “New Football”. Is a sport few will remember and even fewer will understand, first off, we will have a change turning the punt from a play reserved only for 4th downs to be a new risky way to try and get a big gain, any punted ball is now free to be recovered and advanced by any player on either team, the second change, no coaches on the sideline, any and all strategy must originate from a player on the field, thus creating a game filled with even more chaos and stupidity than we already see. Oh yeah, a lesser need of sidelines means a much wider field, The final change that defines New Football is the addition of a 1 point penalty for fair catches and voluntery touchbacks(kneeling the ball in the end zone, if it goes out without being touched there’s no penalty) , thus incentivizing kick and punt returns, oh and yeah, if you can kickoff or punt the ball through the goal posts, you get 3 points as if it’s a normal field goal. Does this game sound safe at all, hell no, but it would be an exciting concept, maybe for a video game or something.
