I think that the salary cap being larger could make for a more interesting free agency experience. As it stands right now, teams are so strapped for cash that there is an upper ceiling of how much a player can make on their contract while keeping enough salary to fill out the roster; moreover, it isn't uncommon to see some of the best players in the league playing for the lowest amount they can in order to keep the team in good financial standing. I understand the reasoning behind it, but when it comes to exploring free agency there is very little motivation to play for another team beyond just chasing a ring or liking the other users better. We dont have record contracts in the ISFL, so that downplays some of the excitement of the free agency period. With a larger cap, players can actually negotiate bigger contracts without feeling selfish, and in turn, that could lead to more excitement and speculation over where players will go.
